Judith Plant

Judith Plant's granddaughter says she's a hippie with a good sense of humour who is loved by all nine of her grandchildren. A gardener-for-life, one of her greatest pleasures is sharing home-grown food with friends and family. For 26 years she has lived on Gabriola Island and continues to contribute to the work of New Society Publishers. Gabriola Island, like the Yalakom Valley, and so many other BC communities, harbours pockets of resistance and renewal that continue to provide hope and inspiration in a challenging and changing world. She feels lucky to be able to feel 'at home' in both places.
