George Stanley (After Desire; Vancouver: A Poem) takes a break from work on the manuscript of his new book North of California St., forthcoming in Spring 2014, to return to the city of his birth later this month for a series of readings and talks.
San Francisco State College Poetry Center is hosting an open workshop with Stanley at 4:30 pm on Thursday, October 24 at the Poetry Center, HUM 512. Admission to the workshop is free. Two days later, on Saturday, October 26, George Stanley and Lewis Ellingham will read at the Meridian Gallery, 535 Powell Street (above Stockton). The reading gets underway at 7:30 pm; tickets are $10 / $5 sliding scale.
You can catch George Stanley in Vancouver on October 16, before he heads for the Bay area, when he reads as part of the Simon Fraser University Lunch Poems series at SFU Harbour Centre. George will be reading with Brad Cran. The reading is at noon in the Teck Gallery, and admission is free.
